Tater Queen 'P' came in yesterday to get her hair colored. What fun we had.
She asked how our renovations were going on the house. (She's had tons of experience tearing things up and fixing them.) I told her that we were almost through with the demo. We still needed to take some of the sheetrock down in the bathrooms. We're planning on tiling the bath/shower area so all of that has to come down. Then we're planning on tiling the lower part of the rest so some of that needed to come down.
She got so excited. She asked if she could go tear out the sheetrock because she needed to relieve some stress. At first, I told her NO. She seemed too anxious. Finally she wore me down. I handed her the key to my house and told her not to tear anything up except the sheetrock. She was thrilled.
I took a late afternoon lunch and drove out to the house to check up on her. Let me tell you, that girl is something. Not only had she done the demo on the master bath, she'd cleaned up the mess it'd made. Awesome!
She was pre-demo'ing the other bath when I got there. She'd used hubby's box cutter to score the sheetrock on all the walls. I picked up a hammer and started pounding the sheetrock. She snorted at me and grabbed the crowbar and said "here's how you do this". She has a serious swing, that gal. She beat the hell out those walls. It didn't take but a few minutes and the demo part was done.
It had taken hubby and me all day to demo the kitchen using hammers. The crowbar is my new friend. Love it.
I told her I needed to get back to the shop and she said she'd come by before she headed back home.
Her husband called me to see if she'd finished with her hair. He was worried that she hadn't made it home yet. I told him what she was doing and he said "Thank God". He was glad she was taking her stress out on my walls instead of him. Heh.
She came by the shop to give me back the key. She'd stopped by the building supply and picked up tile samples and paint chips for me. Loved her selections!! She's really got a knack for this stuff.
I showed Hubby what she'd picked out. He loved it too. I called her last night and casually asked her what color we should paint the kitchen. She said she'd go with eggplant or ruby red since we have 3 huge windows. We love that idea. Hubby said he'd paint the office in the WTF blue that he'd bought for the kitchen. Thankyoubabyjesus.
It all works out.
Now if I could get her interested in painting....
