Update on SB!!!!
SB finished up his chemo and radiation on Thursday. He's home until the 17th. The doctors think they've killed over 50% of the cancer. Good news! If they continue with the radiation, they will risk burning holes in his colon, which could kill him.
On the 17th, he'll have surgery. He will have a permanent colostomy. He doesn't like that idea one bit, but given the alternative, he accepts it. The doctors will make the incision from the breastbone on down to "there". They'll move his colon around and remove (?) his rectum and sew it shut. They will remove all the cancer that they can find. After that, they can continue pinpoint radiation on the little spots they couldn't see or get to.
He will heal for a couple of months. Then he can do whatever he wants to do. No restrictions. We are so thankful to hear good news at last.
He is excited about coming back to work in a few months. He's upset about his hair loss. I told him that I'd shave my head and we'd go through the regrowth together if it'd make him feel better. He call me retarded and we had a good (needed) laugh.
Me and V1 have plans to repaint the shop over a few weekends before SB comes back to work. It's our little surprise for him.
He loves all shades of purple. Secretly, I think it's because he likes the connection to royalty. Heh. So purple it will be. We're not planning to paint it royal purple but maybe some dark aubergine countertops and a muted lavender on the walls with some crazy artwork wouldn't be too bad.
