Whew

SB has started his chemo and radiation therapy. He feels "icky".

He called me Saturday night to wish me a happy Mother's day. How sweet is that?

He has developed a blood clot in his groin and is having to take 2 injections a day for that. The clot has his leg so swollen that he can barely walk.

The Social Security office called me to verify his employment. I asked how long it would be before he could get approved for disability. They said they were trying to expedite it. I was glad to hear that.

He is staying at a hotel during the week. The hospital is paying for that because they said it was cheaper than having him stay in the hospital. Also, they said that patients usually do better in an environment outside the hospital.

So far, everything is going as planned.

V1 had surgery on her mouth. She had to have donor bones grafted on her lower jaw and she had her gums put back in place. She went to Texas to visit her daughter and family while she had the time off. She finally made it back last Friday.

I've had the shop to myself for the last 2 weeks. It has been...interesting. Weddings, funerals, Mother's Day, everything in between, AND V1's and SB's customers on top of all that. Acckkk. I'm ready to drop. I set the answering machine to catch the calls after the 2nd ring.

Hubby has been good to start dinner for me before I get home. He's done the laundry, cooked, cleaned. You name it.

Son's curriculum tests are this week. He's ready. We've been giving him practice tests since the first week of school. He should score very high. I just wish all the parents could/would let their child take these practice tests.

Son is distraught about a party for QUEST on Friday. They have just finished reading Narnia. (He read that book eons ago, but he still enjoyed reading it again.) His QUEST teacher thought it would be a swell idea to have an English tea party on Friday. He is dreading it.

He is supposed to take some sort of English nibbles for tea. I asked him what he wanted to take. He doesn't care as long as it's not spotted dick. Heh. I suggested clotted cream and scones. He almost gagged.

I'm sure we'll think of something. If not, there's always the spotted dick.
